Nasik
Nasik is situated close to the banks of River Godavari in the state of Maharashtra. The city is home to a number of revered temples and ghats. So it is one of the major pilgrimage centers in the country. Apart from temples and ghats, the city has other attractions as well. Coin Museum
Coin Museum, the only one of its kind museum in the whole of Asia, is one of the most famous destinations for visitors in Nasik.
Kalaram Mandir
Kalaram Mandir, is another major attractions in Nasik. It is situated in the Panchavati area of the city. Constructed by Sardar Odhekar of Peshwa in 1790, it is the biggest as well as the simplest amongst all the temples situated here.
Pandu Lena
Pandu Lena caves are situated very close to Nasik. These are amongst the numerous Buddhist Caves built in the country during the flourishing days of the religion.
Ramkund
Constructed by Chitrarao Khatarkar in the year 1696, Ramkund is a holy tank in Nasik. According to mythology when Lord Rama was sent to exile for fourteen years, he used to take bath in this tank. The tank is considered so sacred that many people immerse the ashes of their deceased relatives. Ashes of famous Indian leaders have been immersed here. .
Muktidham Temple
Muktidham Temple is a famous attraction in Nasik. Constructed with shining white makrana marble, the temple is well known for its exquisitely carved out architecture. The white walls of the temple have been inscribed with the 18 chapters of the Gita. According to the dictates of Hinduism, it is said that visiting this temple is as good as visiting four dhams or holy centers of the religion.
Someshwar
Someshwar Village is a picturesque village in Nasik. It boasts of temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman. Navasha Ganapati Temple situated here is also quite popular. The village has a pleasant weather and is well known for the boating and swimming facilities available here.
Deolali Camp
This is a military camp where mentally strained and fatigued soldiers could take rest and rejuvenate themselves. The age of this camp dates back to the year 1861. One of its major attractions is Khandobachi Tekadi Temple.
A visit to Nashik can be a pleasant trip to a Hindu pilgrim center.
